What lead me to restrict deliveries to the EU and UK in the first place? It was a simple question of finances. Selling products is a lot more than just shipping it and calling it done; every device needs support, a warranty, and sometimes returns and repairs.
While you pay the shipping cost for the first order, returns and repairs generally come out of my pocket. I run a small business with small volumes, so they have an outsized effect on my profit, and there was a risk of losing money due to much higher shipping costs overseas.
This has been resolved with a revamped pricing structure that looks the same from the outside, but works differently under the hood.
What does this mean for you? Now, the price you see is what you pay, no matter where you are in the world. For EU & UK* customers, the VAT is included in this price. For everyone else, you'll need to pay customs & duty fees on top, when it arrives in your country. This is paid via the courier to your country's customs authority, and I have no say in what they charge.
The alternative would have meant raising the price for everyone, to cover the increased support & shipping costs for overseas customers. Instead, local customers still enjoy the same price with VAT included, while for overseas customers, the money that I would have paid to your government as VAT goes directly to supporting you instead.
*The UK allows for me to collect VAT for orders up to 135 GBP, excluding shipping costs. Above this, you pay normal import customs & duty.
